Automotive industry production and sales in April 2025

According to the analysis of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in April, the overall performance of the automobile market was good, and production and sales achieved steady growth compared with the same period last year. Among them, the domestic demand potential to accelerate the release, play a better supporting role; exports in the external environment under the situation of rapid changes to remain stable; new energy vehicles active performance, production and sales continue to grow rapidly.

In April, the production and sales of automobiles completed 2.619 million and 2.590 million units respectively, down 12.9% and 11.2%, up 8.9% and 9.8% year-on-year, and from January to April, the production and sales of automobiles completed 10.175 million and 1.006 million units, up 12.9% and 10.8% year-on-year, with the growth rate of production and sales narrowing by 1.6 and 0.4% compared with that of January to March respectively. . The first four months of production and sales for the first time in history more than 10 million units.

In April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 1.251 million and 1.226 million respectively, up 43.8% and 44.2% year-on-year, and the sales of new energy vehicles reached 47.3% of the total sales of new vehicles.From January to April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 4.429 million and 4.3 million respectively, up 48.3% and 46.2% year-on-year, and the sales of new energy vehicles reached 42.3% of the total sales of new vehicles. New-energy vehicle sales reached 42.7 per cent of total new-vehicle sales.
